About Ms. Marchese
Welcome to Gold Rush!
My
name is Jamie Marchese, and I will be your child’s ELL
teacher. I am honored to be a part of your child's life. I know many of
your already, and look forward to working with all of you this coming
year.
If
you are new to Gold Rush Elementary, you will soon find out that it is a
great place to be. I consider myself lucky to have taught kindergarten at GRE since
we opened six
years ago. Last year, I expanded my role at Gold Rush to include
working with English Language Learners. It has been a great adventure
that I look forward to continuing.
Over the years I have taught in Virginia, Texas, and
Colorado in a variety of grade levels from Pre-K to 4th grade. This year will be my 14th year teaching. I am originally from Virginia where I graduated
from Radford University with a degree in Elementary and Middle
Education. After college I lived in Bolivia where I learned Spanish and gained a love for other cultures and languages. I continued my education along the way with courses in
English, Spanish, reading, writing, and literature…which eventually led
me to pursue a Masters Degree in Literacy and endorsements in English Language Learning. In case you haven’t
guessed—I love anything to do with language and literacy!
Outside
of school I enjoy spending time with my family. Parker has been our
home for over 16 years now and I love raising my boys here. I have two
sons, Caden and Quinn, who keep me running. Cade is a sophomore at
CU Boulder and Quinn is a junior at Legend High
School. We
love music, movies, traveling, eating out, and just hanging at home
together or with friends.
I
look forward to working with you and your child in the upcoming school
year! If you have questions, please feel free to email me at: jamie.marchese@dcsdk12.org.
